Diff tools

Here is a quick link to a article on the  vimdiff diff/merge tool.  I'm always looking for new diff tools as I'm never quite happy with the one I'm currently using (SourceGear DiffMerge).  I doubt I'd be happy with this one but figured I'd share.

Free Elections aren't Free.

I guess free elections in this country aren't worth the cost. Unbelievable.
PA primary will be unauditable; GOP blocks e-voting ref

Shorts at work? Flipflops? What the......

I've been lucky to always work for companies that have very lax dress codes. I started a new job this past December and this new company continued the casual dress code policy I'm so accustom to. The weather today in southeastern Pennsylvania is wonderful. Low 80's, no clouds.
When I got into work this morning I realized just how casual the dress code at my new job is. People wearing shorts, flip-flops. I swear I saw one guy wearing those water shoe thingys. This was completely unexpected.

The Deadliest Catch

Just one minute until a new season of The Deadliest Catch on The Discovery Channel.  I can't get enough watching guys on boats pulling up large cages full of crabs.  I know it is weird.

UPDATE
So in the first (of two) episodes, the captain of the Wizard refused to start fishing until his crew searched for a 'Cup of Noodles' styrofoam cup so he could use it as a spit cup for his tobacco.  And of course they never found it.

And one boat replace the pot of another boat with a smashed junk car.  Always the pranksters.

Graphics Novels for Me???

A recent article about a comic called DMZ on BoingBoing intrigued me enough that I went out and bought the first two volume. Normally I don't go in for comics anymore, but the plot of DMZ is exactly the type of story I like. Post-apocalyptic life.
It was pretty good. Good enough for me to want to read the rest of the series.

I love getting a new computer (and I hate it)

Over the weekend I picked up a new Mac Book Pro and my girlfriend got a Mac Book. We'd been talking about these purchases for a few months now and finally decided to just make the jump. She'd been fighting with an old HP laptop and I'd just gotten sick of my pre-Intel iMac.
I love setting up new computers, determining how it is better than my old one, yada, yada, yada.....
I also hate the process at the same time because I'm so afraid I'm going to miss migrating some piece of data. I wanted to avoid the Apple Migration assist tool because it was going to migrate some applications I didn't want anymore as well as mess up the licensing of those apps.
This makes the moving of an iTunes library a bit problematic to you can to retain your play counts, ratings and such. Eventually I just copied the entire library to the new machine and did a find/replace in the iTunes library XML file to change the path of the files.
Two days and I'm still not completely migrated from my old machine but I'm almost there.
